Thinking about fostering an adoptable dog?
Before you start fostering it's also important you have all the necessary supplies. A quick visit to a pet store can get you everything you'll need. I found that out with the first animal I fostered. I had forgotten to get a litterbox! Luckily, it was easily remedied. ( http://aquaworldpittsburgh.com )

10 dog breeds that love the water
I have 2 Vizslas and they love the water. We have a boat on Lake Michigan and they can hardly wait to jump in the lake for a swim. We have a pool at home too. If I open the cover they are in the pool before it fully opens. Our other Vizsla that pasted on love the water too.

Top 10 dog care essentials
I disagree with one thing. Do not ask your vet about what to feed your dog. They are not trained on nutrition. Learn how to read a dog food panel. Compare ingredients. Your local pet supply store should be able to help with this better than your vet. Beware of online oppinions. Remember dog food companies will all tell you that their food is the best. Beniful is a perfect example. The comercials tell you i... (continued)

10 Dog Breeds That Love The Water
The first time we took our black lab into the river, she promptly sank to the bottom! We just assumed that she would have a natural ability to swim, but how wrong we were! She survived the sinking, but we had to literally teach her how to swim. Now she is 3 and absolutely loves the water.

Thinking about fostering an adoptable dog?
I foster for Golden State German shephberd Rescue and support rescues over shelters as they MAY do a better job of checking out the dog's health prior to fostering him out. I adopted a dog from a Pets'Pals. She needed a root canal due to a cracked tooth and heart worm vet care. She''s fine now however. We are lon foster dog #33. bob

Dog rescue groups: picky
Thank you to all of those who spoke out against these shelters, rescues, etc. and their power trip politics. I recently soured on these institutions after wanting to adopt and found out how they operate and how they give you this attitude that they are somehow better than you. Who needs that? And when I wrote in on a blog, a group of them ganged up on me and began to bad mouth me, told me they would never adopt ... (continued)

Finding a puppy: When to bring your puppy home
Why would a breeder be less than average if they do not send their dogs home before 8 weeks of age? Our strict policy is that no puppy under any circumstances leave us before 8 weeks of age and it is completely for the pups benefit. Having been involved in foster and rescue, I can tell you first hand what kind of behavioral problems you will end up with if you take a pup too early. I don't care how many puppies ... (continued)

Purebred or mixed breed?
I really liked your article. My name is Vince Stead, and I wrote a book about mixed breed dogs that you can get on Barnes & Noble and Amazon for only $2.99. Here is a link to it:
