Small enough to pass for a lap dog

When I first passed her kennel, I assumed she was a long-eared Chihuahua mix. So small and delicate. I was stunned, then, to learn she was a Beagle. Completely malnourished and undersized.
Like so many pups who've been through unimaginable circumstances, she appeared in jolly spirits. She thumped her tail enthusiastically and didn't seem the least bit nervous or shy. Her disposition is so friendly and ready to please, I have no doubt she'll be scooped up for adoption just as soon as she's healthy.
For now, still so skinny
Despite what must have been some extremely uncomfortable days or weeks, her future is bright ahead. Congratulations, little muffin. The worst is behind you.
On her way to a normal weight
