On August 20, the owner took to Instagram to post the throwback video through the account @seniorboybruce. It has gone viral since then, gaining more than 13K likes on Instagram at the time of writing.

A joyous video on Instagram showcased a senior puppy mill survivor, a rescue Golden Retriever dog named Bruce. He returned to his family’s New Year’s Eve party at exactly midnight and started a new year. The video has captured the hearts of many on social media. People are in love with the adorable senior fur baby.
In the caption of the post, the pet parent wrote, “This video is from Bruce’s first new years with us.” The person continued, “Going from 2024 into 2025.” The pet parent then added, “He had gone upstairs a few minutes before the ball dropped (it was way past his bedtime after all), but then came back down at the exact moment the clock struck midnight.”
The dog owner continued, “To say the crowd went wild is an understatement.” The caption also read, “I’ll always love this video so much. 2025 was the first full year that Bruce was free from the puppy mill.”
The Instagram video began by giving a look at the New Year’s Eve party at the dog owner’s place. In the meantime, the text written over the clip read, “Remembering the time we had a new years party & my senior rescue dog came downstairs at the exact moment the ball dropped.”
As the clip went on, viewers could see the senior rescue dog, Bruce, entering the party at midnight. All the guests at the party were super excited and happy to see the fur baby return at the beginning of a new year. The dog also got affectionate pets from the guests, as he began to love freely.
