Golden Retriever Makes Putting His Collar on as Difficult as Humanly Possible

You’d think putting a collar on a dog would be an easy job. But this attempt, shared by @auggie.golden, turns the simple task into a full workout. The Golden Retriever is already halfway across the room when the camera starts, apparently determined to turn collar-putting into something much more involved.

His mom is hoping to film a short clip showing his sister how to put his collar on, but Auggie has other plans. He darts around the bed, hops onto it, and starts bouncing from one corner to another while she patiently follows.

Golden Retriever hilariously makes putting on his collar as difficult as possible

The video opens with Auggie making his position pretty clear: he is not sticking around for a three-second tutorial. As soon as his mom approaches with the collar, he turns and zooms away. The naughty Golden Retriever circles the bed, jumps up, and starts stomping across the mattress while she waits nearby, collar in hand. When she reaches toward him, Auggie seems to take it as an invitation to start another round of zoomies.

The caption calls it “time for PARKOURRRR,” and that feels pretty accurate. Mom eventually climbs onto the bed too, hoping she can get close enough to finish the job. Auggie responds by moving behind her, forcing her to turn around and try again. There is a lot of patience involved here, along with quite a bit of unnecessary cardio.

Then, just when Auggie seems convinced he has successfully avoided the collar, Mom catches him. One quick move and the collar is on the Golden Retriever. Auggie closes his eyes as if accepting that the game is officially over. The text on screen says “game over,” and Mom gets the collar secured while he stays put.

The comments suggest Auggie is hardly alone in treating collar time like a sporting event. Other dog owners chimed in with stories about their pups doing spins, dodging, weaving and generally turning a simple routine into a whole production.
