Dog Found as Stray Returns to the Same Shelter He Was Adopted From Years Ago

There are some places no dog should ever have to see twice. For Baby, one of them is the very shelter where he was adopted years ago. Shared by @humanebroward, this video introduces the nine-year-old shelter dog after he was found as a stray and brought back to familiar surroundings. Staff reached out to the family who had once taken this Border Collie mix home, hoping someone would come to pick him up. They waited, but no one ever did.

Senior dog now has to start all over in the same shelter he was adopted from

Behind a glass kennel door, Baby stands waiting patiently. He wags his tail the moment a filming volunteer walks closer. This friendly pup is clearly thrilled to have a visitor stop by his kennel. He looks up sweetly before plopping his body down on the floor. The volunteer extends a single finger underneath the door frame to offer a quick greeting. Baby immediately sniffs it and pushes his own white paw out from under the gap to build a sweet connection.

When the camera slowly backs away from his kennel. Baby just sits there, watching his friend leave with a hopeful gaze. Even after being left behind, he still loves people immensely. From the post’s caption, we learn that he constantly asks the shelter staff for belly rubs. He also happily kisses anyone who walks past his enclosure.

This smart gentleman already knows commands like ‘sit’ and ‘paw’. Moreover, he appears fully housebroken, walks beautifully on a leash, and loves a good game of tug-of-war. The post quickly gathered nearly five thousand likes from internet users wishing him a second chance at luck. Commenters are smitten with his infectious smile and gentle energy. He gets along great with other pups, though he prefers a home without any cats around.

The staff at the Fort Lauderdale facility is determined to find this wonderful senior a permanent home. Baby is currently waiting at the Humane Society of Broward County on Griffin Road. Meeting this smiling pup just requires a quick pre-adoption application online before stopping by for a visit.
