Shared by @circlecitypups, this heartbreaking video shows a gentle 2-year-old shelter dog who appears to have recently given birth to her own puppies. Unfortunately, the toll of motherhood left her health completely depleted, and she now spends her days alone. She simply watches her kennel door, hoping someone notices her beautiful spirit and steps up to help.

The heartrending footage opens with Gertie sitting unassumingly on a raised cot bed inside her small enclosure. She struggles with a raspy cough while a bit of drool hangs from her mouth. Despite feeling clearly listless and under the weather, she keeps her face turned forward toward the volunteer filming her. The sweet girl refuses to look away, showing an incredibly trusting nature. All she seems to want is a safe space to heal up completely.
The staff members note that she remains exceptionally calm and gentle despite discomfort from her skin and ear issues. The facility provides her with regular medical treatments, but a loud kennel environment makes recovery very slow.
From the post’s caption, we learn that this resilient girl leans into every kind touch and asks only for a soft bed and proper nutrition. She is currently staying at the Raymond Street facility in Indianapolis, where visitors can drop by to meet her immediately. Fostering is free and significantly speeds up the entire application process.

Viewers are flooding the comment section to demand a second chance for this wonderful mama dog. One supporter mentioned that she behaves like a scared baby herself and deserves a fresh, loving chapter. This sweet pup has already spent plenty of time caring for others.
