Shelter Dog Thought He Found His Family Only to Be Surrendered Over a Month Later

But life circumstances changed for his new owner just 56 days later. The poor pup suddenly ended up surrendered at a facility five hours away from his original shelter. Luckily, dedicated workers immediately stepped up to coordinate a rescue mission to bring him back.

From the video’s caption, viewers learn that finding him in Savannah prompted an immediate rescue effort by the shelter team. One volunteer drove two and a half hours from one direction. Meanwhile, a Savannah staff member drove the exact same distance from the opposite side. They met right in the middle to safely transfer Mack back to his original shelter. His previous owner/adopter had only nice things to report about his behavior. Mack is fully house-trained, friendly with other pups, and absolutely loves getting long belly rubs.
