Foster Dog’s First Night Out of Hospital Is Filled With Warmth & Love

Nola’s first night away from the hospital became a gentle recovery moment after a frightening rescue. In a TikTok video, Houston foster mom Bri showed the thin dog settling into a safe home after receiving medical care. The clip, posted seven hours ago, follows Nola through bedtime, a bath, pajamas, and quiet comfort. The temporary caregiver also shared that Nola remains fragile, but her new life has finally started with love.

Nola’s first night out of the hospital ❤️‍? This afternoon Nola was discharged from the hospital and is in good spirits. She’s still not out of the woods, and her road to recovery will be a long one, but today feels like a huge step in the right direction! Right now our focus is getting her settled, starting her medications, and carefully following her refeeding plan. After everything her body has endured we have to take things one day at a time and celebrate every small win along the way. She’s severely malnourished, exhausted, and healing from months of neglect but she’s finally surrounded by love. We’re hopeful and we’re so grateful for everyone who has been cheering her on! @strongpawsrescue #fosteringsaveslives #nola #rescuedog #houston #shelterdog

The video starts with Nola standing in a home after her hospital discharge. On-screen text says, “Let’s get my foster ready for bed,” adding that it is her first night out. Bri wrote that Nola was in good spirits, though she was still not out of the woods.

An earlier Instagram update explains the rescue behind the scenes. Nola was found in a Walgreens parking lot, painfully emaciated and soaked in urine. She was scheduled to be euthanized if no one stepped up. Strong Paws Rescue stepped in, and Bri began caring for her while the rescue worked to get her stable.

Bri said Nola is severely malnourished, exhausted, and healing from months of neglect. She also shared that Nola is dehydrated, anemic, has fleas, and remains underweight. Still, her X-rays were encouraging, with no obstruction or major surprises. The plan now includes medication, careful feeding, and close monitoring.

The bedtime routine shows those small steps clearly. Nola gets a bath, though a caption says more baths are needed to remove stains. She wears pajamas because she has no fat to keep her warm. Bri also places potty pads in the crate while Nola learns that she does not need to use the bathroom where she sleeps.

The clip ends with Nola sitting on the bed in blue pajamas. Text reads, “Better days ahead Nola.” Viewers wrote, “Girl, you’re an amazing human! I just know your place in heaven is already reserved with your name on it,” “Oh this baby. Been thru so much ?,” “Look at that beautiful face, love you Nola, you are safe now sweet pup,” and “??? Speedy recovery baby.”
