A simple paw shake or a quick sit are usually the most common parlor tricks that pet parents teach their pups. But a hilarious Instagram video from @wally.meets.world shows a clingy Golden Retriever who has taken his recent training to heart. The overly emotional pup named Wally wants to lean into his human for a full embrace, all the time. And now, he absolutely refuses to stop doing it. And judging by the nearly 30,000 likes the clip picked up in less than 24 hours, plenty of people are now wishing they had a Wally of their own.
After owner teaches Golden Retriever how to hug, internet wants one too
The clip starts right on the living room couch where Wally sits next to his mom. Suddenly, the big pup leans directly into her and rests his face right against hers. On-screen text explains that his owner taught him how to hug, and now it is literally all he does. Mom instantly leans forward to plant a sweet kiss on his nose. One person in the comments said, “I’d do anything for a Wally hug”
This sweet video features a moving Taylor Swift song, I Knew It, I Knew You, that goes so perfectly well with the emotional Golden Retriever and his loving personality.
But the snuggling does not stop in the living room. The footage cuts to the outdoor patio where Wally claims the couch while his mom kneels on the floor. He slowly lifts his paw, rests it over her arm, and sinks his weight onto her chest. Then the clip shows a montage of them hugging absolutely everywhere. They cuddle on the bed, out in the yard, and right on the living room carpet. His mom admitted she can’t believe her dog knows how to give hugs.
The adorable video showing the affectionate Golden Retriever gathered over 29.6k likes in less than twenty-four hours from an obsessed audience. People are aggressively venting their jealousy in the comments. One fan noted how lucky she is because some pets genuinely hate physical contact. Another viewer joked that they taught their own pup to hug but just get punched instead. Multiple users are begging for a tutorial so they can get their own dog to replicate the behavior.
