According to the video, Lottie appeared reluctant to approach visitors, so the volunteer left pieces of hot dog on a blanket nearby.
When she checked back later, the treats were gone. However, the nervous shelter dog remained beneath the kennel bed. Cassondra then lowered her camera to the floor and left a stuffed toy for Lottie. The approach appeared to help, as the volunteer later saw the dog emerge briefly from her hiding spot before leaving for the day. Although the appearance was brief, it offered a glimpse of the young dog.
According to the post, Lottie is less than a year old and is currently staying at the Maui Humane Society.
