In a video shared by @thesheltieava, we meet Ava, the Shetland Sheepdog, who has an important task on her to-do list. She watches her mom getting ready to leave for a work trip and quickly comes up with a solution that makes complete sense from a dog’s perspective. If a suitcase is being packed, then a few important items have clearly been forgotten. One of them is her beloved Lamb Chop toy. The other, as Ava soon demonstrates, is Ava herself. It’s a short clip, but it has already picked up more than 10,000 likes because every pet parent knows this exact feeling.
Dog helps mom pack stuffed toy for work trip
The clip opens in the living room, where the TV runs in the background and a suitcase lies open on the floor. Ava notices it right away. Instead of watching from across the room, she trots over to her beloved Lamb Chop toy, grabs it, gives it a swing, and marches directly back to the suitcase. Then, with the confidence of someone who knows exactly what she’s doing, she drops the toy inside.
Once Lamb Chop is safely packed, Ava looks up at her mom as if to make sure the message has landed. No work trip should begin without the essentials. And then, as an afterthought,
the sweet pup climbs into the empty suitcase herself, placing her front paws inside before settling into the compartment right next to the toy.
It doesn’t take much imagination to understand her position on the matter. Take Lamby. Take Ava. Preferably, take both.
The dog video has already picked up more than 10,000 likes in just hours, and viewers had plenty to say about Ava’s packing strategy. “Not sure if she wants mom to take her emotional support lamby or take her as well,” joked one commenter.
Another wrote, “Cancel and never leave your house.” Others admitted the clip hit a little too close to home, sharing stories about dogs who used to sit in their suitcases on travel days.
