The CEO of Pets4Homes, Axel Lagercrantz, said to the news outlet, “This is the most common tip that comes to mind when we think of dogs in hot weather.” The expert explained, “That’s because it can and often does have tragic consequences.”
In the meantime, another important tip for dog parents from Axel Lagercrantz is to provide fur babies access to fresh, cool water at all times. Per the news outlet, the expert said, “Leave multiple bowls around the house so your dog is never far from a source of hydration.” The expert continued, “If your dog is also playing outside, make sure there is water out there too.”
Meanwhile, according to Sue Ketland, a dog behavior and training specialist at Woodgreen Pets Charity, pet parents have to be extremely careful when they take their fur babies to the beach or any other open-water area. The expert said told the news outlet, “Try to keep your dog to shady areas on the beach.” The expert also added, “And make sure you take your own fresh water with you for them to drink.”
