A mere bathrobe cannot stop Pearl the Golden Retriever from extending her favorite backyard pool day indefinitely. Her first-time mom thought the swimming session was finished and wrapped her up to dry off. Instead, the sneaky pup decided to take an unauthorized plunge back into the deep end anyway. The Instagram reel opens with Pearl standing right at the edge of the pool while wearing a cute pink striped bathrobe. She innocently dips her front paw inside the water as if trying to reach something. But her mom quickly tells her that swimming time is officially over, so the Retriever stands up straight. She paws at the water again before running over to the opposite side.
That’s when we see that all this time, she was trying to paw at a yellow floatie. Pearl does that again from the other side and ends up dramatically tumbling straight into the water. Mom laughs out loud and asks the soggy pup if she is happy with her choices. The dog happily grabs the toy and begins paddling around.
Golden Retriever owners will tell you they absolutely love the water and will do anything to extend their pool day. Mom walks over to the steps and reminds Pearl that bathrobes are not swimwear. However, she completely ignores her and starts doing happy circles in the middle of the pool, pretending she cannot hear.
The stubborn swimmer finally exits the water, and we see her soaked towel robe dripping water as she gets on solid ground. Pearl takes a few steps on the patio and does a big full-body shake to clear the water off her fur and robe.
