While cats are usually known for being particular about their habits, many dog parents would argue that their pups can be just as opinionated. From favorite sleeping spots to reactions about the weather, some dogs make their feelings known in very clear ways. A video on Instagram is gaining attention after one dog owner revealed just how expressive her furry friend can be. Through a playful voiceover, she lists several of the Doberman‘s daily complaints while clips of his reactions play on screen.
Owner loves the fact that their dog communicates about the things he doesn’t like
The video, posted by @honkifyoulovemydog, opens with Cowboy’s owner introducing him as “a man who knows what he likes,” before adding that he especially knows what he does not like. One of Cowboy’s biggest concerns is bedtime. Despite having complete freedom to move around the house, he apparently refuses to settle down unless someone properly tucks him in. His owner explains that Cowboy likes feeling “invited” to bed and becomes upset if nobody takes the time to do it.
The bedtime process also has to be done correctly. According to the owner, Cowboy prefers having his blanket neatly arranged over him and reacts dramatically whenever it is left crooked or messy. In the clip, the dog appears visibly unimpressed until the blanket is fixed to his liking.
Cowboy’s sleep schedule is equally important to him. His owner says the Doberman expects a full 12 hours of sleep every night. She jokes that he becomes grumpy without enough rest and usually refuses to get moving before 10:30 a.m. On rainy days, that time can stretch even later.
The weather in general seems to be another source of frustration for the dog. His owner jokingly suggests that he may simply dislike the weather altogether. Ironically, there is one kind of sunshine Cowboy does enjoy. The Doberman loves relaxing in what his owner calls the “inside sun,” finding warm patches of sunlight coming through the windows indoors.
Still, even those peaceful moments can be interrupted by one of his biggest fears, flies. Whenever Cowboy spots a fly, he immediately runs for cover. The video shows him hiding under tables and squeezing beneath nearby furniture to avoid the insects.
In the caption, the owner embraced Cowboy’s expressive personality, writing, “We love a man who knows how to communicate!!!!”
