You might be wrong if you think a Golden Retriever has no interest in going to the gym — and @wally.meets.world’s sweet video on Instagram is proof. In the video, Wally the dog accompanies his owner to the gym to interrupt and supervise her between sets.

Wally’s owner tries to work with kettlebells, but the Golden Retriever stands right in the middle of the gym setup and nudges in close. It begins with the owner bending over the weights, which Wally sees as an opportunity to slip his head under her. With laughter and kisses, the set turns into a cuddle break. The owner keeps trying, though Wally makes sure that the only exercise she gets is petting him.
Under the video, the caption read, “Trying to workout with a golden retriever is not for the weak, and who can argue with that after watching this video? There are kettlebells, ski machines, and rings overhead, but Wally treats the whole place like a playground built for him and his mom. So, when she moves to the ski machine, he follows her there too, even pawing at the equipment like it is his new toy.
