Finding inner peace is a lot harder when a sweet dog decides to join his owner for a meditation session. Over in Madrid, Draco’s mom, who runs the account @draco.madrid, shows us that staying focused is almost impossible when a handsome pup is around. Draco is a unique mix of Border Collie and Pointer who clearly wants to be part of everything, including relaxation. This boy waits sweetly, toy in mouth, while his mom is deep in a meditative state. As we see, he only wants to give her company.
Owner shows what meditating with a dog looks like
The clip starts with mom sitting still with her eyes closed. She is breathing steadily and seems very deep in her zone. Meanwhile, Draco sits inches away from her face with a toy bone in his mouth. His nose almost touches her chin while he looks straight ahead. Because he is a mix of two highly intelligent breeds (his owner thinks there is even a bit of Weimaraner in his family tree), we see that he is very perceptive, too. He stays remarkably quiet while observing his owner during the meditation.
Mom opens her eyes slowly and catches him looking right at her. They make eye contact, and he immediately drops his bone in her lap. He even sniffs her ears before sitting still again. One viewer joked that the dog was teaching her stillness, and she was the problem. Others mentioned that playing with a pup is a better form of meditation than sitting quietly. It is hard to disagree with that logic. This connection is better than any meditation in the world.
Draco is a total goofball known for his hilarious antics on his feed. He often sits in weird positions on the couch or interrupts mom’s work for mandatory kisses. As someone in the comments said, he just wanted to “co-regulate” with his favorite person during her quiet time.
Mom smiles and gives his snout a big kiss. Draco, for his part, is just making sure she lives in the moment instead of just closing her eyes. Evidently, quiet time feels different when a furry friend is involved.
