Instagram user @aviarycreaturerescue shared a video that begins with a stark message: “POV you rescued a bait/breeder dog and her babies from freezing to death.” It then shows a rescuer approaching a small outdoor kennel that appears to be locked from the outside. The setting looks exposed to the elements, with little protection from the rain.
When the kennel is opened, the condition of the animals becomes clear. Inside is a mother dog, later named Lucille Ball, huddled with her newborn puppies in a cramped space. The rescuer points out visible scars on the mother’s head, suggesting a history of neglect or abuse.
Despite her condition, she stays close to her puppies, who rely on her for warmth and safety. The rescuers act quickly, carefully moving the entire family out of the kennel and into a car. In one moment, Lucille and her pups are seen gathered in the back seat.
According to the caption, Lucille and her litter are part of a larger group of dogs seized from the same property. A total of 13 puppies were rescued, with the others currently at a shelter in Franklin, Louisiana. While Lucille and her babies are now receiving medical care at a hospital, their future remains uncertain as they await foster placement.
The rescue group has issued an appeal for help. They stated that a partner organization, Take Paws Rescue, is ready to take them in if a foster home becomes available. They also noted that the dogs can be transported if another rescue steps forward.
