Though not his original owners, they had been caring for Dagger after his human was taken in custody, leaving the dog without a stable home.
According to the caption, the women did everything they could to find Dagger a new place to stay. However, they were ultimately left with no option but to bring him to the shelter. Dagger, identified as a three-year-old, 70-pound dog, is now housed in a high-risk shelter environment. While staff are working to keep him comfortable, the reality remains that his chances depend heavily on finding an adopter soon.
In a later clip, Dagger is seen stepping out of his kennel for the first time in seven days. Dressed in an adorable outfit, he appears energized and eager, soaking in the attention as he goes on a walk. The shelter also notes that he is potty trained and had been holding it in. They mentioned that he only relieves himself once he was finally outside.
Despite his uncertain situation, Dagger’s demeanor remains hopeful. His bright expression and willingness to engage with people suggest he is ready for a second chance. The shelter continues to share his story in the hope that the right person will come forward and give him a loving forever home.
