The clip, shared by @bully.baloo, revisits the story of Siggi, a mama dog who was rescued just in time from a shelter euthanasia list. The video marks one year since her rescue, with her rescuer, Isabella Boone, reflecting on the moment that changed everything.
According to the caption, Boone and her friend Caitie had just finished a morning of volunteering when they learned about Siggi and her four puppies. These dogs only had a day left to be saved. Without hesitation, they drove to the shelter to meet them. The former recalls that the decision became instant the moment she saw Siggi in her kennel.
The footage shows the emotional moment they approach the dog. The duo gently takes her and her puppies out of the kennel. Despite the stressful environment, Siggi appears calm and trusting, staying close to her rescuers as they prepare to leave. Her puppies, later named Chobani, Dannon, Yoplait, and Gogurt, follow along, unaware of how close they had come to losing their chance at life.
Over time, all four puppies found homes, but Siggi’s journey was more complicated. Being older, part of a bully breed, and facing some health concerns made it harder for her to be adopted. She also had selective preferences around other dogs, which further limited her options. Still, Boone describes her as gentle, loving, and an exceptional mother who never stopped showing affection.
The video is meant to be a reflection and a celebration of Siggi’s “rescueversary.” What’s more, Boone hints in the caption that Siggi may have finally found the right home after a long wait. “I can’t wait to share more with you all about Siggi’s final chapter in her long journey,” she added.
