This video of Odin from @odin.thebigboy shows that a Labrador is capable of extreme patience when there’s a big swimming session involved. It’s his favorite activity after all. And in this clip, he breaks down the five-step pool routine that starts with him sitting like a very good boy on the carpet in the living room. He looks so sweet waiting. This guy is normally full of energy, but right now he has his eyes on the prize. He knows the drill and so waits for his mom to give the signal.
Owner shows how Labrador goes swimming in the pool
Mom finally opens the door after patting Odin’s head, and he does not hesitate. He rushes out to the backyard and then launches himself right into the deep end. His perfect dive makes a massive splash. This breed loves being in the water, and he looks so happy submerged. This is Step 2. Then comes the real work.
This boy spends his time playing fetch with his mom. We see him bring soggy toys back to her as she relaxes on a deck chair. Mom takes the toy and throws it back in the pool for him to retrieve. And so he naturally jumps back in for more swimming.
Eventually, the fun has to stop as he heads to the bathroom for Step 4. Mom uses the hand shower to rinse him. She manages to get all that chlorine off his fur while he looks a bit sad that the pool time is over. But the drama isn’t over yet. He still has one more “step” left, and it is the one that has the potential to get him into trouble.
He is still sopping wet from the bath, but he doesn’t care about the rules. He sprawls out across his sister’s bed, and he does this even though she asked him not to.
