There is honestly no way to explain why Goose thinks a hoodie string is the best snack right now. But maybe it’s just about being as close to his pet dad, Lukas, as possible. The pair lives in Norway, and they share their life on @gooseandhisadventures.
Goose is a very handsome Golden Retriever who has this very specific habit that involves chewing his dad’s clothes. A recent video shows them sitting by a window, with the dog holding his dad’s hoodie string in his mouth, like a snack. He is just staring outside as if there is nothing odd here.
Dog snacks on owner’s hoodie string in adorable video
Lukas is filming on his front camera while they hang out by the window. And Goose has already claimed his hoodie string as his own. Dad asks him, “What is happening here?” but the dog just looks back at him for a second, and then he looks out the window again. What’s funniest is that he never lets go of that hoodie string. It’s just attached to his mouth.
This breed is famously “mouthy” and loves carrying things — it’s like a comfort thing for them. They just want to hold onto stuff, especially if it smells like their favorite human.
Next, Lukas tries a little trick. He starts asking, “Who’s that?” over and over. Moreover, he wants Goose to look away, and it works, but just for a second. The string stays put, and that makes the owner laugh. This inadvertently makes Goose look at the camera again. You can tell he looks totally unimpressed by this trick his dad pulled.
Lukas offers him the other hoodie string, asking him, “You want this one?” And Goose actually stops to think about it. More importantly, he is trying to figure out how to hold both. And it’s hilarious to watch.
Eventually, he lets the first one go, but only to grab the second one. Lukas says he does this all the time on the couch. He just sits there and munches. As one commentator said, it’s definitely his “emotional support string.” Hundreds of people have liked the video already, and the comments are full of other owners who totally get it. One person said it’s just “delicious.” Another called it a favorite snack. It’s just his little quirk, and it clearly makes him happy.
