You’d think a muscular Staffy would shred a plushie in seconds, but Holly has other plans for her collection. Living in Victoria, Australia, this blue beauty is currently rewriting the rules on what it means to be a “tough” dog. Her Instagram at @hollythebluestaffy shows her surrounded by piles of stuffed animals that are somehow still in one piece. Most owners are used to seeing stuffing everywhere within five minutes. But this Staffy treats every single toy like it’s made of glass, and a recent video shows just how big her collection is.
Owner proves Staffy is ‘as soft as her toys’
The clip opens with Holly trotting to a basket that is overflowing right beside the sofa. Her dad tells her to go get her toys, and she just pulls out a plushie donut. She looks so proud holding it in her mouth. It turns out she never rips them apart, which is why she has such a massive collection now. She just blinks at the camera with her big, sweet eyes, and her dad tells us that the big pile we saw earlier is not even all of them.
Then, her dad brings out a brand-new ghost, which is a squeaky one. Holly looks so interested in it from her spot on the floor. So when the owner holds it out for her, she comes over and takes it most gently. In the video, the text says she’s taking it over for “inspection,” as she carries it away to her spot. Next, the clip cuts to show her just holding it between her front paws. Dad tries to get her to play with it a bit more, but she’s not having it. She just wants to protect it.
Even when she nibbles on the toy, it’s barely a bite, and her dad tells us that is just about how rough she will get with her toys, and it’s not rough at all. You can hear it crinkling a little as she gently gnaws at it like she’s trying not to hurt it. In contrast, one fan mentioned their own dog murders stuffed toys in 30 seconds.
Later, Holly is on the couch using another new one as a chin rest. She just lies there while her dad squeaks it for her. One viewer said it’s like they are her babies. The pet parent eventually finds her lying under the glass coffee table, just holding the other new toy in her mouth. Moreover, she gets some cheek scritches for being such a good girl. We must “Protect her at all costs,” as one viewer said.
