Imagine waking up at 3 AM to a random slurping noise near the bed. Sounds like the beginning of a horror movie, right? But for one owner in Texas, the reality is way more ridiculous. Klaus is a fluffy Golden Retriever puppy who has clearly decided that his own water bowl is just too far away.
This new video from @goldenboy_klaus shows him standing right by the nightstand like he got caught mid-thought, not mid-action. But the evidence is right there. Water dripping from his snout, glass still within reach, and that guilty look on his face. Case: This Golden Retriever was caught stealing a drink from his mom’s glass while she was fast asleep.

The scene is just too funny. Klaus is frozen there like a deer in headlights. Mom wakes up and asks if he’s serious. She then points out the obvious, that it’s her water, but he just stares at her. He just keeps those big puppy eyes locked on her while more water drops hit the floor.
And then the video cuts to the actual crime in progress. Klaus is leaning over and lapping up the water directly from the glass. Mom starts laughing because it is just so bold. She tells him to stop, but he just gives her the ultimate side-eye while still lapping up the water. It is like he is challenging her.
He is a June 2025 baby and already has so much attitude for a Golden Retriever. “Can’t a guy get some ice water in peace,” his mom joked in the caption. The clip received over 67k likes at the time of writing. People can’t get enough of his daring move. One viewer commented that it’s his water now.
Another person asked if mom’s name was even on the glass. Some fans think he’s probably been doing this for weeks without her knowing. Now there’s a thought. One person joked that everything she owns actually belongs to him anyway. Maybe mom will get a lid for that glass next time.
