Bringing a new puppy home is a bit of a blur. One minute it’s all sleepy cuddles with this tiny furball, and then suddenly they’re everywhere, sniffing, noticing, reacting to things that didn’t exist to them yesterday. It makes sense to hold on to those early moments somehow. Over at @rowanthegoldenboy, Rowan’s owner has been doing exactly that, and recently shared a video of her Golden Retriever puppy experiencing his first rainy day. He’s standing there, taking it all in, and clearly forming some very serious opinions about it.
Golden Retriever puppy sees rain for the first time
The video opens on a wet sidewalk, with the Golden Retriever puppy just standing there, slightly confused and not entirely sold on the situation. Rowan is in a blue and yellow duck-print raincoat when his mom asks, “What do you think, buddy?” and waits like she might actually get an answer. He glances up with this unsure little expression, still deciding where he stands on all of it. A second later, the dog leans down and licks a tiny puddle, like that might help him figure things out.
Later, he’s sitting on a patch of pebbles, raincoat off but harness still on, just staring straight up at the sky, like something isn’t adding up. Water usually shows up in a bowl, so this whole falling-from-above situation feels… questionable.
That confusion didn’t go unnoticed either. One person joked he’s wondering why his drink is coming from the clouds, while another summed it up perfectly with, “where dis come from?” His mom got a little sentimental in the caption when she said, “I get to show him the world for the first time.” It truly is the sweetest feeling.
It is no wonder this cute post went viral with over 1.6 million views and 182k likes, as of the time of writing. People are losing it over his little face because the confusion is just so real. This proves that puppy content is the best part of the internet.
