Golden Retriever Puppy’s Hiccups Melts Hearts Online

One of life’s biggest joys is seeing a brand-new puppy discover how their own body works. It can actually stop the internet in its tracks. Lemon was born in November 2025 and is already learning that drinking water too fast comes with some very squeaky consequences.

A new video over at @lemonthatgoldenn shows the Golden Retriever puppy sitting on the floor, completely stunned by a sudden case of the hiccups. And her involuntary bobs have managed to hijack millions of feeds.

Golden Retriever puppy goes viral for his hiccups

The clip is short, but it has already exploded with over 4.5 million views. That’s the power of a cute puppy just existing! Lemon is sitting right in the center of the frame and hiccuping away. You can tell she looks a bit confused about the situation. But also that she has clearly accepted her fate. The in-video text explains that someone (Lemon) simply drank their water too fast.

Goldens are known to be a bit over-enthusiastic about everything, including their hydration. Next in the video, we see her just staring into the distance until one particularly big hiccup makes her look directly at her mom. It is like she is asking for a status report on why her chest is jumping. Most of the time, this happens when the diaphragm contracts from eating or drinking too quickly, and it is totally normal for a growing pup.

“The look at the end like… mom what’s happening,” her owner joked in the caption. She mentioned that nothing could have prepared her for how cute the moment was. The internet seems to agree since the post has over 641k likes. One viewer asked if she makes “I love you” sounds if you press her chest, like a toy.

Another person joked that she was clearly “contemplating actions” after the water bowl incident. Someone else even admitted they were crying because the clip is so adorable. It is the kind of wholesome content people just want to watch on a loop.

A few fellow pet parents chimed in with advice, like patting her very gently on the back to help her settle down. One user even shared that their own dog is nicknamed “Hiccup Hank” because it happens so often. Adorable.
