Video: Golden Retriever Can’t Figure Out How to Reach Mom Past Siblings

In this video, a fluffy three-dog “blockade” is taking over a lot of the floor. And poor Winston is just standing there, wondering where all the walking space went. He is part of the crew at @the3retrievers, and he really wants to reach his mom. However, the three other Golden Retriever boys are spread out like a fan right in his path. This clip shows him staring at his brothers while his little brain tries to solve the puzzle. The dog is usually polite, so he doesn’t want to trample over his napping siblings.

The Golden Retriever reaches mom but struggles to walk past his siblings first

The video opens with Oakley, Archie, and Gus claiming every single inch of the mat. One of them is busy chewing on a toy while the others are just resting. Winston walks in from the living room and stops dead in his tracks because the path is totally blocked. The on-screen text says, “When you want your mom but there’s a blockade…” and it is an accurate description of the scene.

Winston just stands there wagging his tail. We can tell he is clearly waiting for someone to move an inch so he can squeeze through. “No room for you, Winston?” his mother asks while she films the standoff. He looks at her with a very confused expression, like he is still doing the mental math.

Eventually, he decides that sliding past Oakley in the corner is his best bet. The dog carefully maneuvers his way and finally makes it to the other side. He gets all the head scratches he was looking for. However, Oakley, the Golden Retriever, realizes he is missing out on the attention and decides to get up too.

He moves from his spot to join the cuddle session, which ironically frees up the space he was blocking. As of the time of writing, over 3.3k people have liked the post already because the interaction is just so precious. One viewer called Winston a “considerate fella” for being so patient. Another person mentioned that the sweet faces in the house could warm up any gloomy day.
