Video: Rescue Dogs Exhibit Funniest ‘Quirks’ While They Sleep

A hilarious Instagram video from @nicola_the_greyhound features two rescue Greyhounds, showing that two dogs could have strikingly different dreams even while sleeping in the same room.

The video begins with Nicola, a dark Greyhound, sprawled on the carpet, letting out a sharp bark every few seconds as her paws twitch like she is in the middle of sprinting. On the other hand, her Greyhound brother, Skip, seems like he has never been more at peace while sleeping.

Dogs behave differently when they are asleep

The video’s on‑screen text calls the first rescue dog “The one fighting demons in their sleep,” and it fits perfectly because she looks like she is in an action movie while sleeping.

Then the video cuts to Skip, another rescue Greyhound, and the contrast is hilarious. Skip is sleeping upside down on the couch with his legs in the air, as the on-screen text says, “And the one living their best life… upside down.” You do not see a twitch in sight, and he looks like he just discovered peace.

The owner ties it all together in the caption, writing, “Greyhounds have the funniest little quirks,” and adding, “They can dream so deeply they twitch, whimper and run in their sleep.” They continue, “I always wonder… what is she dreaming about now? Running free? Chasing the wind? Or just remembering that she is finally free.” Finally, they ask, “What do you think greyhounds dream about?” and viewers had some ideas.

One person wrote, “Mine is chasing cats and rabbits! And she gets them every time! ?,” while another added, “I think my girl is chasing the squirrels in the park and yelling at them.”

Honestly, Nicola may be racing phantom rabbits in her head, while Skip is dreaming about soft couches and snack time. Either way, the video is a reminder that even when rescue dogs are sleeping, their personalities don’t take a break.
