Video: Dog Gets Backup to Wake Mom Up After She Decides to Sleep In

Mornings can look very different depending on who you ask. Some people rely on multiple alarms and still struggle to leave their beds, while others wake up the moment the day begins. For pet parents, however, sleeping in is often not an option, especially when a hungry pup decides it is officially time to start the day. A recent video by @sassyhuskies captures that familiar struggle, showing how one determined dog took matters into his own paws when his mom tried to get a little extra sleep.

Husky will do anything to get mom out of bed

The video opens with a Husky standing beside the bed, vocalizing loudly at his mom. If you’re familiar with the breed, you’ll know that Huskies are not shy about expressing themselves. True to form, this pup makes his opinion known the moment his owner tries to linger under the covers. The on-screen text reads, “Huskys will judge you for anything.”

When his initial attempts fail to get her moving, the Husky escalates the situation. He calls in his sibling, another Husky, effectively bringing in “backup.” As their mom asks if she can sleep a little longer, both dogs begin howling in unison. Thought bubbles appear on the screen, humorously translating their “complaints.” One reads, “She don’t love us,” while another declares, “She so fluffin lazy.” As the howls grow louder, additional captions pop up: “Tummy’s so empty” and “I need my breakfast.”

Their owner later explained in the caption that her alarm “had just gone off,” suggesting she wasn’t exactly oversleeping. Still, the dogs seemed to believe even a few extra minutes were unacceptable. For them, mealtime is serious business.

One viewer wrote, “I feel this in my very soul,” while another joked that the dogs were “sleep shaming” their owner. Others praised the teamwork, with one comment noting, “He knew that backup would get you moving.” Many simply admired the dogs’ persistence, calling them “the cutest fur balls who want what they want when they want it.” At the same time, another user described them as “my kind of alarm clock.”
