While most people rush indoors during a snowstorm, one massive Tibetan Mastiff refuses to leave the cold behind. A viral video posted by Instagram account @sengethetibetanmastiff shows Senge, a towering, lion-maned Tibetan Mastiff, choosing a blizzard over the comfort of his warm house. Instead of hurrying inside, he stretches out on a snow-covered deck and settles in as if he has found paradise.
Big dog has no interest in getting back inside in funny video
The Instagram account @sengethetibetanmastiff shares the life of Senge and has 353 posts, 18.5K followers, and follows 5,630 accounts. The bio proudly introduces him as Senge the Tibetan Mastiff, one of the “Illinois 27.” It explains that he was rescued “from a pretty horrible existence and is now living his BEST life!!”
The video captures a winter storm in full swing. Snow blankets the deck, and flakes continue to fall steadily from the sky. The owner attempts to shovel a path through the snow, likely to make walking easier. But Senge has other plans. Instead of moving out of the way or heading inside, the enormous dog plants himself directly in the snow. He lies flat against the icy surface, soaking in the cold. His thick double coat spreads around him like a winter blanket, and he watches the snowfall with contentment.
The caption explains the scene perfectly: “He’s in heaven!!! He would not move to let me continue shoveling a path for him on the deck. He was content just laying in the coolness and enjoyed watching the snow fall…….” Senge clearly prefers the blizzard to the warm house waiting behind him. Fans quickly filled the comments with admiration. One user wrote, “Living his best life, snowy life.” Another added, “Omg. He is the happiest there.” One viewer noted, “Too cute! I’m glad someone is enjoying all this snow.” Another commented, “The most beautiful snowman.”
Tibetan Mastiffs are very large dogs with a lion-like look. People once used them as guard dogs, and they still act protective today. They may seem distant at first, but they are loving and very loyal to their families. Tibetan Mastiffs are a giant breed and usually weigh between 70 and 150 pounds.
