Buying your puppy the softest, coziest bed on the market feels like peak responsible pet parenting. One Mini Aussie pup, however, has completely redefined what “using the bed correctly” means, and the internet can’t stop laughing.
A viral video shows a puppy presented with a plush, cushioned dog bed, only for him to treat it like something entirely different.
Puppy doesn’t know how to use the bed right in adorable video
The clip opens with the on-screen text: “Got him the softest bed and this is how he uses it.” Instead of curling up neatly inside the center of the bed as most dogs would, the puppy flips the script. He grabs the bed, bunches it up, and burrows underneath. At one point, he appears to pull the entire cushion over his body, flattening it awkwardly as he settles beneath it. Rather than resting on top of the plush surface, he essentially turns the bed into an oversized blanket.
Instead of looking confused, he appears entirely satisfied with his unconventional arrangement. Viewers flooded the comments with laughter and solidarity. One user wrote, “Hahahha, that’s too funny! It’s just a giant blanket, it seems!” Another added, “So it’s not only me!” One viewer joked, “HAHA the right way to use the bed!” Another declared, “It’s a weighted blanket now.”
The clip appears on the Instagram account @berks_and_blaze, which features Berkeley and Blaze, two Mini Aussies known as “The B boys.” The account includes 26 posts, 2,194 followers, and follows 2,546 accounts. Based in Texas, the page describes the duo as “Wannabe Pupfluencers” and shares links to favorite products and recommendations.
Miniature American Shepherds are highly intelligent and affectionate companions. Breeders in California developed the small herding breed in the 1960s by selectively breeding the smallest Australian Shepherd specimens, according to the Miniature American Shepherd Club of America. They aimed to create a dog that mirrors the appearance, personality, and intelligence of the Australian Shepherd in a more compact size.
