Dogs usually get alert even with the slightest noise. However, one can’t say the same for every dog. At times, noise from outside can easily spook some pups, just like this dog who gets alarmed by a noise and immediately seeks comfort from his owner. The rescue pup’s reaction in the video has garnered a lot of attention online, and the reel has received more than 13,000 likes at the time of writing.

Seeing their anxious canines get scared by noises is not new to paw parents. Even this rescue pup, named Cactus, gets spooked by a noise in this video uploaded to @cactustherescue.
The clip shows Cactus barking and taking out voices after hearing “something’s outside.” But instead of running and inspecting the source of the voice, the pup gets anxious and becomes very vocal, which takes his owner, Michael Henry, by surprise.
However, the pup calms down a bit when his dog dad comes and comforts him, saying, he “just heard a noise.” Despite this, the pup feels a little uneasy and takes out his voice again, until the paw parent promises the pup that he is “okay.”
Soon after this, “good boy” Cactus snuggles with the dad, taking “anxious yawn” in between, before finally relaxing.
Narrating about the pup’s behavior, Henry mentions in the caption that “every now and then Cactus hears something outside and decides it’s time for a full security briefing. He gets anxious, super vocal, and starts making noises like he’s actually trying to talk to me; his inner Scooby-Doo really comes out.”
So in a bid to calm the pooch down, Henry “just sit with him and let him know everything’s okay until he relaxes again.” “Being brave is easier when you’re not doing it alone,” said the dog dad.
And it seems the pup’s behavior and dad’s words hit a chord with the netizens. Many lauded their bond in the post’s comments, with one saying, “Dear Cactus so happy you have such a patient dad who you can talk to you are a brave good boy.” At the same time, another follower mentioned, “Cactus just being Cactus. You are so in tune with him. It’s really nice to see.”
