Dad asks her what she is hiding. She doesn’t have an answer. Instead, she just sits even closer to him. Her mouth is squeezed shut. It is like she thinks if she doesn’t open it, the object doesn’t exist. Then she starts making her signature “I’m in trouble” noise. It’s a mix between a whine and a plea. And that sound only gets louder as she tries to ask for mercy.
She puts a heavy paw on Dad’s arm. Then she drops into what her humans call the “guilty bow.” It is a move for forgiveness before she even gets caught. Dad tells her to come closer and finally pulls a baby sock out of her mouth. It is fully intact. He asks her what it is. But Luna doesn’t look ashamed for long.
