Video: Big Dog Has a Reason for Coming Back to CVS Pharmacy

If you’ve ever taken the same route on a walk because your dog insists on it, you already know who’s really in charge. Canines never forget the places where good things happen. Even one small reward can turn into a daily tradition. That’s exactly what happened in a video shared by @ritchiethepyr showing a big dog who keeps returning to CVS Pharmacy for a very specific reason.

Dog returns to CVS Pharmacy often because of treats

At first glance, it may seem strange for a dog to be eager to visit a pharmacy. According to Ritchie’s owner, however, the habit started more than a year ago during a simple walk around the neighborhood.

As they passed the CVS located across the street from their home, Ritchie stopped outside the store. A cashier noticed him through the security camera and decided to step outside with a pack of treats, unknowingly setting a routine in motion.

From that day on, the Great Pyrenees remembered exactly where kindness (and snacks) could be found. The video shows a series of clips capturing him returning to the pharmacy day after day.

What began as waiting politely outside soon turned into confident strolls inside the store, as if he belonged there. His owner jokes that Ritchie now walks through the doors like he owns the place.

Over time, the staff came to recognize their regular visitor. According to his owner, the employees know exactly why Ritchie stops by and even keep a stash of treats near the counter just for him.

If he feels he hasn’t been acknowledged, Ritchie will gently paw at the counter as a reminder. When the store is busy, he waits patiently in line, showing impressive manners for such a large dog.

The video also shows how personalized the experience has become. Ritchie sometimes gets to choose which snack he wants that day, and on occasion, staff members will walk him back out to his car seat once his visit is complete. In the comments, his owner humorously notes that the cashier “had no idea what she was starting” when she offered that first treat.

One commenter joked that Ritchie is “the ambassador of CVS,” while another admired “the way he walks with purpose.” Others suggested the pharmacy should sign him up for commercials, and many pointed out that a genuine friendship had clearly formed. One comment summed it up humorously, calling Ritchie “the manager of staff emotional support,” a title he seems to wear proudly.
