Video Shows Dog Turning Mom’s Flower Pot Into His New Favorite Toy

Some of the most expensive things we buy for our pets end up gathering dust while they find pure joy in a piece of literal trash. Yote, a famous rescue dog over at @yotethedog, is the perfect example of this logic. His mom recently shared a video of him in the backyard, looking very proud of his latest discovery.

Despite having two overflowing baskets of actual pet gear, Yote decided that a discarded plastic flower pot was the only toy that mattered. It is a hilarious look at the “anything can be a plaything” philosophy that most dogs seem to live by.

This dog won’t let go of mom’s flower pot — it’s now his favorite toy

The video begins with his mom walking outside to find Yote standing next to the pot, as if he’d just discovered an artefact. As soon as he sees her, he picks it up and trots over, clearly wanting to show off his loot. When his mom asks to see it, the teasing begins. He brings it close, lets her reach out, and then yanks it away at the very last second.

At one point, he even tries to put his head in the pot before realizing it’s not the best tactical move and returns to his victory laps. This mischievous side is a big change from how his story started.

About four months ago, he was found wandering in a backyard. His parents actually thought he was a coyote at first — which explains the name Yote. But it didn’t take long to realize he was just a very social pup in need of a home. Since being adopted, he’s gone from a confused stray to a spoiled traveler. He goes on mule rides, visits the beach, and even has his own decorated closet for his gear.

Hundreds of people have liked the post, with many fans pointing out that his “mine” energy is totally relatable. Commenters are calling him a master of finding joy in the simple things, even if those things are supposed to be for planting flowers. Yote doesn’t seem to care about labels or house rules; he’s just happy to have a backyard and a human to tease.
