Rescue dogs can take their sweet time to soften up to you. However, a rescue puppy named Cactus has won over the internet again for the way he greeted one of his owner’s close friends in a video. Instagram user @cactustherescue shared the video, showing how the rescue puppy warmed up to the stranger almost instantly. Not only that, he took the friendship ahead by falling asleep right in the visitor’s lap.
Rescue puppy can’t stop napping in owner’s friend’s lap
The video opens with the rescue puppy sitting with the friend on the couch. He approaches his future friend slowly, ears perked and body curious, as the on‑screen caption reads, “Cactus reacts to meeting one of my best friends for the first time.” Within seconds, the friend gives him gentle scratches, and that’s all the permission the puppy seems to need. Cactus settles in, stretches out across the man’s legs, and makes himself completely at home.
The next scene in the video shows the rescue puppy curled right into the friend’s lap, already fast asleep. Meanwhile, the friend sits comfortably on the couch, holding the puppy as he snoozes without a care. It’s clear Cactus decided this new person had passed whatever test he needed to pass. The owner wrote in the caption, “Cactus wasted no time making him his friend as well,” adding, “it was a great first meeting!”
