Cute as puppies are, they basically show up with their own personal forecast, and Chase is sitting right in the middle of whatever category-five nonsense this one brought with him.

Dogs are so smart…” Chase really was trying. He kind of hugged the puppy into place, almost like a slow-motion wrestling pin, clearly praying that the little guy might finally switch off.
Of course, that’s when one of the older Goldens wandered in and started pestering him, and you can almost feel Chase sighing, “Seriously? Right now?” When the older dog wandered off, the puppy immediately took that as an opportunity to escalate.
He wriggled, wiggled, and finally slipped right out of Chase’s hold. He did that with the boldness of a creature who has literally zero concept of cause and effect. The text changed to “Unfortunately, this attempt was unsuccessful,” right as the puppy popped free and started nibbling on Chase’s snout like a chew toy. Peak baby-brain decision-making right there.
The comments section is full of people (and dog accounts) who’ve clearly lived this exact scenario. One says, “distractions… they get us every time,” another adds, “So much going on.
