Video: Dog Reacts When ‘Spare Human’ Interrupts Quality Time With Mom

Some dogs have this very particular “absolutely not” energy they unleash the second someone interrupts their one-on-one time with their human. And Dyce, the famously fluffy Rottie from @dycederottweiler, delivers that vibe flawlessly. The video starts with him tucked up beside his mom on the couch. He is giving off that calm-but-not-really calm look that tells you something (or someone) is about to ruin his moment. When she pans the camera over to reveal the so-called “spare human,” everything suddenly falls into place. Dyce seems to be personally offended by his presence, and it’s hilarious.

Dog gives ‘spare human’ the look when they interrupt quality time with mom

The video has already crossed 64K likes, and honestly, it deserves every one. The moment the beat from JoJo’s “Leave” kicks in, he’s already in character. Deep into his role as a long-suffering leading man whose romance is being sabotaged by an unwanted extra. The text on screen sets the tone: “POV: The spare human interrupts your quality time with mom.” And Dyce plays it exactly how you’d expect from a dog who communicates 80% through eyebrow work.

His mom pans the camera to the man who’s apparently chatting away, blissfully unaware that he has committed a relationship crime. By the time the lens swings back, Dyce is staring straight at his mom, his eyes wide, as if to say, “Please handle your person.” Then comes the close-up. Dyce looks up at the spare human with the driest, most unimpressed expression, then shoots his mom a sideways glare so sharp it could cut glass.

And just to make sure his point lands, he lifts one paw and thumps it down toward her to… emphasize things. His mom pats his paw, trying not to laugh. And he responds with another slow, pointed side-eye that reads, “See what I put up with?” The camera tracks his gaze again, catching the spare human casually leaning in to plant a kiss on his head — bold move — and somehow Dyce still refuses to acknowledge him. His face says, “I’m only tolerating this because she loves you. Barely.”

Fans in the comments completely lost it. One person wrote, “That epic side eye look.” Another added, “Mom, does he HAVE to be here?” Someone else summed it up perfectly: “You again… how many times do I need to tell you she is mine?” Exactly.
