Holiday pet costumes are now just as common as gingerbread houses and festive music playlists. Scrolling through social media this time of year means encountering dogs dressed as elves, reindeer, or even entire Christmas trees, and most of them look surprisingly confident about it. Still, some pups take the job a little more seriously than others. Two Golden Retrievers recently demonstrated their commitment by playing reindeer in a video, and the moment only got better when the snacks arrived.

Chase and Chester, a father–son Golden Retriever duo, are fully embracing the Christmas spirit in their latest viral moment. In the clip shared by their pet parent, the pair sit side by side, dressed in matching sweaters and reindeer antler headbands. Their soft expressions and patient posture already make the scene adorable, but the text appearing on the video adds humor to the setup. It reads: “They told us not to feed the reindeer.”
Seconds later, the owner approaches the dogs with a carrot in hand, clearly prepared to ignore the fictional warning. The text continues: “But I think I’m gonna risk it.” Both dogs perk up slightly but remain impressively composed as they wait for their treat. Chase receives his carrot first, and then Chester gets his, and within moments, both dogs are gently munching away. Their eyes close in pure contentment, as if savoring every crunch.
Alongside the video, the owner joked that she may need to grab another carrot so that she can enjoy watching the moment over and over again. For many who saw it, that didn’t seem like an exaggeration, especially after watching the dogs’ calm and adorable reaction to their festive snack.
