Video Shows Having a Dog Can Change Your Bathroom Routine

Privacy is a luxury you quickly learn to give up when you have a pet. No matter how carefully you close the door or tiptoe around, your furry companions always know where you are and insist on being part of the action. A new video shows the hilarious reality of how your bathroom routine can suddenly become a shared experience when you have a very curious dog.

Owner shares why using bathroom is not the same when you have a dog at home

A Toy Australian Shepherd named Ember is giving viewers a hilariously honest glimpse into what it’s like to have a pup who doesn’t respect bathroom boundaries. The short video, filmed from the owner’s point of view, shows the adorable dog repeatedly appearing in different scenes, sneaking into the bathroom as if to make sure his human isn’t alone.

The clip begins with the text overlay, “POV: Using the bathroom when you have a dog,” setting the tone for what’s to come. To make the moment even funnier, the owner paired the footage with Rockwell’s 1984 hit song “Somebody’s Watching Me.”

Just as the lyrics, “I always feel like somebody’s watching me,” ring out, Ember dramatically pokes his head out from behind the shower curtain, perfectly timed with the music. The next line, “And I have no privacy,” hits right as the little dog gives his owner an all-too-familiar look that says, “What are you doing, and why am I not part of it?”

Plenty of users took to the comments to share relatable stories of their own pets’ boundary issues. One person joked, “Oh, you’re in the bathroom? Me toooo,” imagining Ember’s thought process. Another wrote, “Boundaries?! What’s that?,” noting the universal truth that dogs rarely respect personal space.

One dog parent chimed in with a funny incident. “Mine gets mad when we have visitors and the bathroom door has to be shut and she can’t barge in on the person in there,” their comment read. Another simply adored the sight, writing, “Oh my goodness, that lil face poking out from behind the curtain.”
