In a heartbreaking dog video on Instagram, a volunteer melts when a shelter dog smiles at her at the kennel. But her heart breaks after learning the pooch named Toby’s reality. “How can I possibly tell this sweet boy that might not make it out tomorrow?” — an on-screen text reads. Furthermore, she reveals that the fur baby appears to have only 24 hours to live. 

Meanwhile, the clip features Toby smiling at her as she sits beside him at the kennel. He appears friendly and is a “Star Wars” fan with a Yoda plushie. Moreover, the volunteer describes the pooch in the caption. It reads, “He’s about 2 years old, sweet as pie, and has the calmest, gentlest demeanor. If you love a bigger boy but want a total gentleman, Toby is your guy.”
