Video: Owner Captures Malamute on the Couch Watching TV All by Himself

Most pet parents will agree that their dogs have personalities as vivid as any human’s. They sulk, they celebrate, and sometimes they mimic our routines with uncanny accuracy. A recent video of a Malamute shows him enjoying what can only be described as the ultimate “lazy evening in,” sitting on the couch and watching TV.

Jackson, a fluffy Alaskan Malamute with more than 20K followers on Instagram, has become the latest internet sensation thanks to a video shared by his owner. While heading downstairs one day, Jackson’s owner was surprised to find him settled comfortably on the living room couch. What made the sight remarkable wasn’t just his choice of seat, but the fact that his attention was completely fixed on the television.

In the clip, Jackson appears calm and focused, almost as if he were a person enjoying his favorite show after a long day. His owner added playful text on the screen that read, “Came downstairs and caught my dog posted up on the couch watching TV like he pays rent.” Many viewers couldn’t help but imagine what might have been going through his mind. Was he following the story on screen, or simply enjoying the moving colors and sounds? Either way, the video struck a chord with dog lovers everywhere.

One user joked that he looked like “a stay-at-home son doing his thang,” as if Jackson had fully embraced the laid-back lifestyle of someone with no responsibilities. Another dog owner chimed in to say, “Some of mine are avid TV watchers too.”

Others took the humor even further, teasing that Jackson wasn’t just a pet but the real head of the household. “Not only that, he thinks he owns the house and everything in it including you,” one person quipped. Another laughed that Jackson was clearly “living the best life,” with all the comforts of home and none of the bills to pay.
