Video: Rescue Puppy Steals & Then Returns Owner’s Toys Without Throwing a Tantrum

No matter how big a toy pile your furry friend has, it’s never going to be enough, and they will always have room for just one more. If your pet had a wish list, fluffy playthings and tasty treats would definitely top it; the rest can come later. This dog owner documented the moments after his rescue puppy snuck into their room and stole (technically borrowed) their toy in a video that’s all sorts of adorable. Turns out, Cactus might have dozens of toys, but stealing his parents’ Squishmallows is his favorite activity.

Anything that belongs to you also belongs to your four-legged companion, and you may not have a say in this matter. Your favorite socks? Their go-to chew thing. Your pillow? Their most comfortable headrest. Your treasured T-shirt? Their coziest blanket. On the other hand, this rescue puppy has an obsession with his owner’s cuddly toys, and this viral video showed how he often steals and then returns them without throwing the slightest tantrum.

In the clip, Cactus’ dog dad, Mike Brown, appeared carrying him like a baby, as the pooch similarly carried the Squishmallow. Brown announced that the good boy wanted to return something, confirming that it was indeed the soft toy he took, but agreed to give it back peacefully. “No more stealing Squishmallows,” the owner told the floof, as they settled on the deal. The caption further explained his trick of stealing their plushies and collecting them in his own room.

The rescue puppy’s obsession with his owners’ toys in the video proved that once it’s yours, it’s theirs too — pets make the rules while their humans follow. Henry echoed similar feelings, writing how Cactus “thinks the Squishmallows belong to him now.” Commenters also noticed the dog’s reaction when his dad caught him red-handed, with no shred of guilt. “The way he closes his eyes as if to say, ‘Enjoy it whilst you can,'” wrote one user, while another petitioned for him to get his owner, Squishmellow.
