Even in multi-pet households, where dogs and cats coexist peacefully, there is usually one animal that clearly runs the show. And often, it’s not the one you would expect. While dogs may have the bark and the brawn, cats tend to rule with quiet authority (and sharp claws). A recent Instagram video is a perfect example of this dynamic, showing two strong, stocky Pit Bulls brought to a standstill by one small but mighty house cat.
Instagram video shows Pit Bulls anxious about crossing paths with the house cat
In the video, two Pit Bulls are seen standing just outside a glass door, ready to come inside. However, there’s just one problem. Their cat sibling, aptly named Drama, is sitting right in the middle of the doorway. Despite being physically much larger than the feline, the dogs hesitate, glancing sideways and shifting their weight nervously as they try to figure out how — or if — they’re allowed to pass.
A text overlay on the video jokingly reads, “Why would you adopt two bully breeds when you have cats?” followed by, “The bully breeds:” The camera then captures the dogs frozen in place, unwilling to challenge Drama’s authority. The owner, who is filming the scene, can be heard reassuring them, “She won’t hurt you.” However, neither dog moves. The standoff continues until the owner eventually walks over and gently moves Drama out of the way. Only then do the Pit Bulls cautiously step inside, like kids who just avoided a run-in with the school principal.
In the comments section, viewers were thoroughly amused and surprisingly sympathetic to the nervous pups. One person couldn’t get over the timing and expressions, writing, “The side eyes & the cat’s name is Drama!” Another chimed in with a personal experience, “I had a cat like this. The dogs were rightfully afraid of him.” But the standout comment that had everyone laughing read, “Mommy ain’t nobody crossing that threshold without murder mittens permission. Just hold on mommy until we get the ok!”
Drama the cat may be small, but she certainly runs a tight ship at home, and her dog siblings seem to know better than to challenge it.
