A dog named Zel has become an internet sensation, trying to peek out the window in a moving car. The German Shepherd had previously risked her life after attempting to jump out of the vehicle on a highway. In consequence of her wayward actions, Instagram user @zellybellythegsd shared the video that shows how the dog gets limited window privileges.

Following a risky incident during her full window access, a dog tries to enjoy her limited window access in a viral video. The video shows Zel trying to enjoy fresh air through a barely cracked window. Zel looks out of the moving vehicle, attempting to make the most of her limited privileges.
The video’s on-screen caption adds context: “When your window privileges have been greatly reduced because you tried to jump out while mom was driving down the highway.” Meanwhile, the accompanying caption below the clip explains: “Just enough for her to get some fresh air on her nose.”
The post further reads, “I always have her clipped in to either her harness or collar but that day she probably would have been hanging halfway out the window.” Through the caption, Zel’s owner throws light on the balance between safety and letting her dog enjoy the fresh air.
The dog’s mischief resonated with various dog owners who took to the comment section to describe their own experiences. One user commented, “My dog actually did jump out the window once when we were going ~40 mph. After a $900 diagnostic vet visit which revealed she was perfectly fine aside for some cuts, she never did it again. So I amounted it to a very expensive training session, which I’d recommend to absolutely no one.”
Another user recounted a similar experience, “I was driving through a neighborhood & stopped at a stop sign. I looked to my right to see a german shepherd trotting around.” The person initially assumed that it was a “random dog.” However, later, they realised that their dog had “jumped out of the window.”
Zel’s video is thus both entertaining and cautionary, reminding pet owners of the impulsive nature of pet dogs.
