Instagram video shows rescue dog wanting scratches only for himself
An Instagram video showcasing a rescue dog, Cactus, refusing to share his owner’s scratches with his cat sibling, Miso, has gone viral. In the caption, the pet owner explained their mission to bring the cat and the dog “one step closer” to “snuggling up together.” The owner also informed the followers that “this was their first time sharing the bed—kind of.” Moreover, the canine is still in the process of “learning the art of sharing!”
The Instagram video began with Cactus lying on a cozy bed — right next to the owner — and getting lots of affectionate scratches. Meanwhile, his cat sibling, who is at the back, contemplates if he should leave the bed. The on-screen text states, “Trying to get new puppy and cat roommates to snuggle in bed.”
Soon after, the clip shows the dog’s possessive side when the owner went on to pet the little feline and give him some scratches. Instantly, Cactus holds the owner’s arms with his front paws as if he were trying to reserve all the pets for himself. He then guides his parent’s hand to his head to get the scratches, with the voice in the video instructing Cactus that he must learn “how to share sometimes.”
In the comment section, one Instagram user pointed out how the rescue dog was gripping the owner’s arms, which they found “hilarious!” Meanwhile, one commenter jokingly wrote, “He’s used to being an only child.” Another person expressed their thoughts on the canine’s expressions, saying, “His facial expressions are great, the scrunched forehead and dot eyebrows.” One more individual lovingly stated that Cactus is their “favourite dog on Instagram.”
