Video: Dogs Are Beyond Happy With Grandpa After Parents Leave

Leaving pets behind while heading off on vacation can be stressful for many pet parents. There’s always that nagging worry: Will they be sad? Will they miss us? But often, our pets are more adaptable than we think, especially when they’re left in good hands. One recent video perfectly captures this, as two dogs show just how much fun they can have when left in the care of their grandpa.

Dogs have the time of their lives with grandpa in adorable video

A video posted on the Instagram account @beagleskiko hilariously puts every pet parent’s fear to rest. The clip begins with a text overlay that reads, “Worried our beagles would be upset when we go on a 2-week holiday without them…” It shows the owners saying goodbye, presumably expecting their pups to miss them dearly. But what comes next flips that assumption on its head.

The video cuts to a new scene with the caption: “Meanwhile, with their grandad,” and it’s immediately clear that the dogs are doing just fine, if not better. The following clips show a series of joyful moments shared between the Beagles and their grandpa. They’re seen absolutely thriving — snuggling with their grandpa, playing around the house, and generally having the time of their lives.

The caption on the video says it all: “They love their grandad so much.” And based on the footage, the feeling is definitely mutual. The Beagles seem entirely unbothered by their parents’ absence, and if anything, they look like they’ve scored the ultimate vacation themselves — complete with all the cuddles, attention, and love they could want.

Many users in the comments joked about the dogs being just fine without their parents. One person wrote, “They didn’t even notice y’all left.” Another commented, “This is the grandparent effect… kids always get spoiled.” Some viewers even shared their own stories about leaving pets with family, saying their animals seem to have more fun on “staycations” than their owners do on actual trips.

It’s safe to say these Beagles didn’t miss a beat and definitely didn’t miss their humans too much.
