Alison Hammond Named as New ‘For the Love of Dogs’ TV Show Host

The upcoming six-part series hosted by Alison Hammond is set to bring the inspiring tales of Battersea’s most recent rescue animals to life. Official broadcast dates are yet to be revealed, as per BBC.

Expressing her anticipation for her new role, Hammond acknowledged the unique persona of her predecessor. “I am very aware that I can never replace the iconic Paul in this wonderful series,” she said. However, she expressed enthusiasm towards demonstrating the outstanding work performed by Battersea. She said that it would be “an absolute privilege to give it my all.”

The commissioning editor of ITV, Satmohan Panesar, expressed delight over the series return, set for the coming spring. He welcomed Alison Hammond as the new host, adding, “As Paul O’Grady always said himself, the stars of the show were the dogs themselves, but the impact that he had and the legacy he leaves will never be forgotten by any of us.”

Joining the conversation, Battersea’s Chief Executive Peter Laurie spoke fondly of the late ambassador, Paul O’Grady. He stated, “Alongside our beloved ambassador, the late, great Paul O’Grady, we’ve enjoyed showing how much joy rescue animals can give.” Laurie further added, “We’re looking forward to welcoming Alison to Battersea and introducing her to the incredible animals in our care as we help them on their journey to finding loving, new homes.”

Since its inception over a decade ago, the much-loved series has clinched multiple awards, including the prestigious National Television Awards four times.
