A rare black swan in the U.K. succumbed to its injuries following a reported dog attack on Jan. 28. The swan lived in a large Pool near a popular local pub in Telford called The Blue Pig. Black Swan died during reported dog attack

According to the Shropshire Star news, the attack happened around 12:40 p.m. It remains unclear what breed the dog involved in the attack is.

A recent Facebook post shared by The Blue Pig pub claims that the swan was attacked right outside the pub.

The post reads: “It is with a VERY [sad] heart that I share the news that the Black swan — who is adored by all — has been attacked by a dog outside the pub in the last hour (12:41 28 Jan). What makes me fuming is that the dog owner left the swan for dead where the dog dragged him! The Rescue Centre have taken this beautiful bird who regrettably did not survive. The footage of the incident will be passed to them.”
