American Bulldog Thrown Out With Trash Finds Forever Home in North Carolina

An American Bulldog mix left out with the trash is now settling into his forever home in North Carolina.

American Bulldog discarded with trash

According to People, the pup’s harrowing story began on Sept. 7, when sanitation workers discovered the 4-year-old dog in a crate next to mounds of garbage awaiting pickup. The workers called animal control. Then, they gave the dog ice water while they waited for help. Thankfully, Hoke County Animal Shelter in Raeford took over care of the dog, named Moe-Moe.

In a Facebook post about Moe-Moe, the shelter wrote that the dog was “such a sweetheart.” Additionally, the shelter shared that his history included positive experiences with other dogs and children.

“He’s housebroken, walks great on leash, is already neutered and will have a reduced adoption fee,” the rescue stated.

The post went viral, garnering 1.3K shares. It only took five days for Moe-Moe to find a forever home.

“I know many of you were worried about Moe-Moe. The sweetest boy who was put out with the trash,” the shelter wrote in a subsequent Facebook post. “We’re happy to announce that he got a wonderful home today.”

According to the post, Moe-Moe’s new mom is “the sweetest” and her home includes a “big beautiful backyard.”

“Thank you to everyone who shared his story and to all the folks that helped him on this journey and especially to his new sweet family,” the shelter added.

Facebook commenters showered the post with support.

“What a great story. I’m so glad he has a new home,” one wrote. “He has an adorable smile! His new family is lucky as well. I look at that face and can’t understand how he was out with the garbage.”

“Beautiful Boy!” another added. “So happy you are loved and safe now!”

“I hope his new family loves him unconditionally and is patient with him,” someone else wrote.

It is unclear if the people who left Moe-Moe out with the trash will face repercussions for the way they abandoned this fur baby.
