Jogger Hears Yelps And Finds 19 Abandoned Puppies Left In A Box

While she was out for a jog in a park in Plymouth, Michigan, Julie Newman heard some strange noises coming from nearby. When she investigated where the sound was coming from, she was shocked to find a whopping 19 four-week-old puppies abandoned in a box beneath a tree.

Newman, who already has two of her own rescue dogs, was heartbroken. She made sure all the puppies found their way to the Humane Society of Huron Valley. The nine male and ten female pups are all doing fine now that they’re getting the care they need. They appear to be Pit Bull Terrier mixes, but it’s hard to say for sure.

A female dog of a similar breed who had clearly just given birth was also found in the area, but it’s hard to tell if she’s the mother. She was introduced to the puppies and seemed interested, but hesitant. All the dogs are in good care and will eventually be available for adoption when they are ready.

Dumping unwanted pets is cruel and unnecessary. The puppies were exposed to the elements, and there was no guarantee they would be found. They got lucky. The shelters exist to take in animals like these and find them homes. Please take any unwanted animals to a shelter immediately and give them a chance at life.

What would you do if you came across that many puppies? Would you take one of these adorable dogs home? Let us know in the comments below!
